Alex's First Birthday Party

Alex had his first birthday party. We invited friends over to help celebrate. The little red outfit that Alex is sportin' is actually his Dad's. Shaun has pictures of himself at his own first birthday party wearing the same outfit.

I don't think Alex knew what to do with his cake. It took him a bit of time to figure out that the lump of food in front of him was a tasty concoction of chocolate cake and icing...all for him. He didn't get to eat the gumdrops...(burp, I helped him with those, and I was happy to help him with the majority of his cake too)

Birthdays last a long time when it's your First

Alex's Grandma and Grandpa Q came up for an early birthday celebration. Here he is opening his first birthday gifts for his First Birthday...and it isn't even his real birthday yet.

swimming Lessons !

Alex had his first swimming lessons in early February. He takes to the water like a wee tadpole. Shaun and I took turns gettng in with him. He learned how to put his ears, chin, and belly in the water. Alex also learned how to play "Humpty Dumpty Sat On a Wall" with Daddy (nope, Alex is not in swimmers time out)
